Pricing

Before getting to the pricing, here is what I am not an expert on:

  • I have a strong background in tax-aware planning and investing but do not prepare client tax returns. I believe my expertise is better applied elsewhere.

  • I am not an expert in rental real estate or the tax issues surrounding that. While I advise clients from time to time on small holdings, if it's a major part of your personal plan, I may not be the right advisor for you..

  • I do not have expertise on cross border issues such as taxation or other dual-citizen topics

  • I keep abreast of crypto, stablecoins, etc., but it is not a main area of focus for me.

And here is why you may not want to work with me:

  • I do my best to respond quickly when something is urgent. For everything else, replies may be slower. I’m a sole practitioner who also continues to write and direct in film and television, and I’ve intentionally built a lifestyle practice with a limited client base so I can serve deeply and still create. The clients who choose me tend to value that dual focus. Core Planning handles much of the firm’s back office so I can focus on your work — but many questions require reviewing your finances or doing research, and I can’t always drop everything to reply immediately. If rapid-fire responses are essential for you, a larger firm may be a better fit.

  • I can not always answer unscheduled phone calls. Again, if you’re looking for somebody who can always provide extremely quick answers, a larger firm (with employees whose full-time job is to answer the phones) may be a better fit for you than a sole practitioner.

  • I do not recommend asset allocation or investment options to try to outperform the market. If you are looking to squeeze every possible basis point of return from your portfolios, I won't be the advisor for you. I value long term success (i.e. reaching your goals with peace of mind) over maximized returns.
